Is there a particular process to follow when moving a certification authority and the NPS to a new server but which has the same name and IP address of a decommissioned one that had those roles before? We followed Microsoft recommendations but now get 812 error on User Tunnels, although Device Tunnels connect perfectly.

    • Were the CA and NPS on the same server previously?

When changing CA remember to also change the RootCertificateNameToAccept on the RRAS and for User Tunnelling also change your NPS policies to use the new CA for cert lookup as well as renew the cert thumbprints in EAP settings in your vpn profile.
